Volvo Car Malaysia Conducts Inaugural Safety Driving Experience for Customers

• Volvo’s first defensive driving course and test drive event attracts 240 Volvo owners and enthusiasts at Malaysia’s inaugural airbase

• The initiative extends Volvo’s For Life campaign by imparting essential defensive driving skills and knowledge to enhance road safety

Kuala Lumpur, 4th March 2024 – Volvo Car Malaysia successfully hosted its maiden Safety Driving Experience, marking the conclusion of its For Life campaign at KL Base, Sungai Besi – Malaysia’s iconic first airstrip.

Taking place over the initial weekend of March, the event garnered 240 participants, including Volvo owners and enthusiasts, who engaged in essential defensive driving exercises such as brake, steer and avoid, and quick-reaction lane changes.

Attendees also had the opportunity to test the cars’ acceleration and handling on a slalom course set on the 1.8km-long runway, with Volvo’s advanced driver assistance systems, including cross-traffic alert and pilot assist, showcased during the activity.

The event featured Volvo's full range of fully electric and plug-in hybrid models, including the Volvo XC90 and Volvo XC60 SUVs, the Volvo S90 and Volvo S60 sedans, the Volvo V60 estate, and the sub-compact Volvo XC40 available with either a fully electric or mild hybrid powertrain.

A spotlight of the event was the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric crossover SUV in a new Vapour Grey colour option, boasting updates for the model year 2024, offering up to 550km* in electric range, faster DC charging for a larger battery pack**, and pixel headlight technology.

Generali, the official insurance partner, Pirelli, the official tyre sponsor, IKEA, providing catering and the Småland children’s activity area, and PURAS, offering a hands-on sensory experience with premium essential oils, supported the event.
