BENTLEY CELEBRATES 20 YEARS SINCE LE MANS VICTORY WITH LIMITED-EDITION CONTINENTAL GT LE MANS COLLECTION IN MALAYSIA
Kuala Lumpur, 5th February 2024 – Bentley Motors commemorates the 20th anniversary of its historic sixth victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the centenary of the legendary race by introducing the exclusive Le Mans Collection, consisting of 48 Continental GT Coupés and Continental GTCs worldwide. One of these limited editions has recently made its debut in Malaysia.
Crafted by Bentley's personal commissioning division, Mulliner, each vehicle in the Le Mans Collection is powered by the renowned 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 engine, recognized as the most successful 12-cylinder engine of the modern era. The exterior features a striking Verdant green finish with a Moonbeam racing stripe, paying homage to the Bentley Speed 8 #7 that triumphed at Le Mans in 2003.
The Bentley Rotating Display in the Le Mans Collection Continental GT showcases a unique touch, replacing the standard central dial with a Vitrine displaying an engine valve from the 2003 Le Mans-winning Bentley Speed 8's 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. This valve, one of 48 artifacts in the collection, adds a distinctive historical element to the interior.
Inside the Le Mans Collection Continental GT, luxury meets sporting purpose with Beluga hide, napped Dynamica fabric, and Hotspur contrast stitching. The bespoke details include a 2003 wreath welcome lamp, Speed 8 silhouette treadplate, and a 24-hour digital clock, emphasizing the connection between Bentley and the Le Mans 24 Hours.
The Le Mans Collection Continental GT, priced at RM4,540,696 (inclusive of import duty, excise, and sales tax, before registration), houses Bentley's iconic 6.0-litre W12 TSI engine, delivering 650 bhp and 664 lb.ft of torque. With Bentley Dynamic Ride, three-chamber active air suspension, and advanced chassis technologies, this limited-edition model offers remarkable agility, performance, and ride quality, reaching a top speed of 208 mph and accelerating from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds.
Mulliner's designers drew inspiration from the Speed 8 racing cars of 2003, with the Verdant green exterior, Moonbeam racing stripe, and Blackline and Carbon-Fibre Styling specifications. The Bentley matrix grille proudly bears the painted #7 in Arctica white, symbolizing the race-winning number of 2003 and the radiators of Bentleys victorious between 1924 and 1930.
Bentley's enduring connection with Le Mans dates back to 1923, marking the beginning of a glorious decade of victories. The Le Mans Collection Continental GT serves as a tribute to this rich history, blending modern engineering with classic racing aesthetics. All 48 units of the Le Mans Collection Continental GTs and GTCs worldwide have been reserved by enthusiastic buyers.
