Bangkok, Thailand, 12th April 2024 – The recently concluded "45th Bangkok International Motor Show", spanning from March 27th to April 7th, witnessed a remarkable surge in vehicle reservations, totaling 58,611 units - marking a substantial 27.5% increase compared to the previous year. This upswing was fueled by the debut of new car and motorcycle models showcased during the event, coupled with impactful sales initiatives by automotive manufacturers. Notably, the event drew an impressive attendance of 1.6 million visitors.

Mr. Jaturont Komolmis, Chief Operation Officer of Grand Prix International Public Company Limited and Vice Chairman of the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show, highlighted the event's pivotal role in fostering entrepreneurship, particularly evident with the influx of new entrepreneurs from China and Vietnam. These entrepreneurs presented a diverse array of electric vehicle models, catering to consumer preferences across various price points, ranging from several hundred thousand to several million baht. The event garnered significant interest, attracting a total of 1,610,972 attendees, resulting in a notable surge in vehicle reservations, including 5,173 units for motorcycles and 53,438 units for cars. Remarkably, electric cars accounted for over 32.78% of the total reservations, underscoring the growing prominence of eco-friendly mobility solutions.

Mr. Komolmis further noted the burgeoning interest in Chinese electric cars, rivaling the appeal of renowned European manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Volvo. The combined reservation tally for electric cars surpassed 17,517 units, constituting over 32.78% of the total reservations. Despite the enduring popularity of combustion engine vehicles, with over 35,921 units reserved, there's a discernible shift in consumer behavior towards newer models that offer enhanced value for money. Nonetheless, the luxury car segment continues to flourish, buoyed by manufacturers' strategic launches of new variants and products across their portfolios.

In the motorcycle category, the event witnessed participation from five Chinese electric motorcycle brands, sparking considerable interest among visitors. This translated into 5,173 reservations for electric motorcycles during the event.

Looking ahead, anticipation is high for the "46th Bangkok International Motor Show," scheduled from March 26 to April 6, 2025, at Impact Challenger 1-3, Muang Thong Thani.
