BMW Malaysia announces product updates for the New BMW iX xDrive50 Sport.

Premium automaker unveils updates for the highly-anticipated all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), further expanding the BMW i portfolio in Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur, 2nd January 2023 – BMW Malaysia has announced product updates for the New BMW iX xDrive50 Sport, exemplifying the premium automaker’s commitment towards shaping the future of Electrified Mobility in Malaysia and raising the benchmark in Sheer Electric Driving Pleasure.

The New BMW iX xDrive50 Sport will be equipped with 22-inch BMW Individual aerodynamic wheels 1021 multi-colour with a 3D polished buff and 17-inch brake calipers in Blue. Arriving as standard in the New BMW iX xDrive50 Sport is also the BMW Iconic Sounds Electric that creates a premium immersive atmosphere, demonstrating the immediate connection between sound and vehicle.

The expanded exterior mirror package will continue to equip the all-electric SAV. The luxurious design language extends into the cabin of the vehicle, as the Interior Design Atelier elegantly lines the cabin as standard, complemented by the central console and central armrest in Sensatec. Inside, the BMW Live Cockpit Professional is ever-ready to welcome its driver, along with a curved 12.3-inch instrument display and 14.9-inch central display fitted as standard. Comfort and convenience come in the form of multifunctional seats for the driver and it is further elevated with storage for wireless charging and automatic air conditioning with 4-zone control. Onboard entertainment is also provided via the Harman Kardon surround sound system for the New BMW iX xDrive50 Sport.

The New BMW iX xDrive50 Sport combines fully electric driving pleasure, sportiness, complemented by a long range and outstanding efficiency. The all electric vehicle has an output of 385kW/523hp, accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in only 4.6 seconds. With a maximum torque of 765 Nm and an electronically limited top speed of 200 km/h, the all-electric SAV is powered by a battery which packs a large capacity of 111.5kWh, allowing for a range of up to 630 kilometres (WLTP) per charge.

Also standard to the all-electric SAV are the Intelligent Emergency Call, Teleservices, ConnectedDrive Services, Connected Package Professional, BMW Natural Interaction and Active Protection via the high-resolution BMW Live Cockpit Professional.  In terms of assistance, the New BMW iX xDrive50 Sport features the Driving Assistant Professional, Parking Assistant and new cruise control with braking function.

Standard exterior colour options for the New BMW iX xDrive50 Sport include the Mineral White, Alpine White Metallic, Black Sapphire Metallic, Sophisto Grey Metallic with Brilliant Effect, Phytonic Blue Metallic, and Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic. Two new colours are also available with an additional charge of RM6,200, namely the Individual Storm Bay Metallic and Aventurine Red Metallic. Inside, owners may choose between Interior Design Atelier in Mocha or Black, or opt for the Interior Design Suite in Amido or Castanea for an additional RM17,300.

Remote Services1 will enable owners to remotely control the car by locking their doors, activating the headlight flash or horn and starting the ventilation system using the My BMW App. Owners will also enjoy a Last State Call (LSC) which provides relevant information about the status of the car, such as the fuel level, mileage, status of doors and windows, Check Control Messages, pending services and more.

In the year ahead, owners will also enjoy three years runtime of BMW Maps Connected Charging[1] and Connected Navigation2. Connected Charging guarantees to stay mobile with the BMW EV – whether at home, on the road or at public charging stations. In addition to providing information to owners via the My BMW App, the Charging Management feature also showcases past and ongoing charging sessions which enables owners to remotely control and check ongoing or upcoming charging sessions. The app will also notify users should there be any specific charging events.

Arriving with the Flexible Charger Cable Mode 2 and Fast Charging Cable Mode 3, the New BMW iX xDrive50 Sport can be charged from 0 to 80% in 35 minutes with the use of a DC Fast Charger, and 0 to 100% in 10 hours and 45 minutes with an 11kW AC Wallbox Charger. Owners of the New BMW iX xDrive50 Sport will also be able to enjoy charging access at over 610 charging facilities nationwide, powered by major local EV charging providers who are in partnership with BMW Group Malaysia

Smartphone Integration and Connected Package Professional for all vehicles in 2023.

Striving to continuously provide premium value for all BMW owners, Smartphone integration[1] (featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), along with the Connected Package Professional will both come as standard for all BMW models in 2023 - further increase connectivity between users and their vehicles. This enables  convenient access to familiar functions and applications in all BMW models from 2023 onwards.  The seamless and wireless integration of both Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto, paired with smooth interplay of the BMW Operating System 7/8 will provide owners an unrivalled connectivity experience within their vehicle. The climate menu will also remain accessible to users without having to leave the Apple CarPlay or Android Auto screen. Exclusive to models with BMW iDrive 8, Apple Maps will be adapted into the Instrument Cluster and Head Up Display. [1] The Smartphone Integration and Remote Services features are available on lifetime offer, as long as technical prerequisites are met.  

The cloud-based navigation system in BMW Maps will come with a more intuitive address input and a rich experience in the Point of Interest segment. Owners will also be able to send their destinations from the My BMW App to their vehicles seamlessly using the Send-to-Car feature. The Last Mile feature will assist in navigating towards their destination in the event that parking is not available nearby and they are forced to go on foot.
