Porsche Malaysia introduces the all-new Macan – stronger, sharper and sportier

Kuala Lumpur, 6th January 2022 Porsche Malaysia, represented by Sime Darby Auto Performance introduces the all-new third generation Macan, the choice of those who dare forward. Combining outstanding driving dynamics with comfort and functionality, the all-new Macan promises to add an endorphin rush to the everyday drive.

Featuring an enhanced design with new 3D structural elements and dynamic side blades for a sporty look, the all-new Macan has been redefined for sharpness, with a modern interior and performance to match.

Inside, the all-new Macan features a sporty and elegant interior with selected equipment from the 911 Carrera, as well as a futuristic centre console with a high-quality glass look, packed with intuitive touch-sensitive surfaces to elevate day-to-day practicality.

The all-new Macan is powered by a redeveloped 2.0 litre inline four-cylinder turbo engine, delivering 265 PS (261 hp) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm, or an increase of 13 PS (13 hp) and 30 Nm compared to the previous generation. The Macan S packs a new 2.9-litre V6 biturbo engine that produces 380 PS (375 hp), 26 PS (26 hp) more power than before. This new powerplant propels the vehicle from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, onto a top speed of up to 259 km/h.

Even sharper design with sporty focus

Porsche has further sharpened the visuals of its best-selling compact SUV: a redesigned nose with an inlay in the exterior colour emphasizes the car’s width, complementing a new 3D structural element to give the car a more imposing look at the front. At the back, a striking diffuser in a particularly technical design increases the car’s sportiness when viewed from the rear. LED headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and Sport Design exterior mirrors are now standard on all models.

A total of 14 colours are available for the all-new Macan range, including the new colours Papaya Metallic and Gentian Blue Metallic; Python Green exclusively for the Macan GTS. With its Individual Colour and Paint To Sample options, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur further expands the potential for design freedom for the Macan. Larger wheels are also fitted as standard: they measure at least 19 inches for the Macan.

New Centre Console with touch surface

The all-new Porsche Macan offers a substantially enhanced interior with a modern and elegantly designed centre console. Its new operating concept, which makes use of touch surfaces instead of tactile buttons, brings a clear and futuristic structure to the cockpit. A new, shorter selector lever sits in the centre of the clearly organized control module. The analogue clock at the top of the dashboard is now also standard equipment. The all-new Macan continues to offer many online functions and services as standard. These can be controlled via the 10.9-inch full HD touch display of the Porsche Communication Management or by means of voice commands. The all- new Macan also inherits the new multifunction and GT Sport steering wheels from the 911.

Increased performance with redeveloped engine

The completely redeveloped engine extracts maximum performance from a compact space. Its low weight on the front axle brings advantages to driving dynamics, clearly noticeable when behind the wheel. The increase in fuel pressure to 350 bar results in improved fuel distribution in the cylinder and therefore optimised combustion.

As a result, the 2.0 litre inline four-cylinder turbo engine on the Macan delivers 265 PS (261 hp) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm, accelerating the all-new Macan from 0-100 km/h in just 6.2 seconds before going on to a top speed of 232 km/h.

Under the hood of the flagship Macan GTS, the 2.9-litre V6 biturbo engine now delivers 440 PS (434 hp) – an increase of 60 PS (59 hp). With the responsiveness and power delivery typical of Porsche GTS cars, it completes the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 4.3 seconds when fitted with the Sport Chrono package and reaches a top speed of 272 km/h.

Optimised chassis and brakes for maximum performance

The all-new Macan models also offer a wide suspension bandwidth, balancing maximum suspension comfort and dynamic sports car performance. The chassis has been optimized further: the Macan now responds with even more sensitivity and more directly to the driving situation and road conditions, giving the driver even better feedback via the steering wheel.

The active all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system with electronically controlled multi—plate clutch enables fully variable distribution of the propulsion force between the drive axles, resulting in high traction, agile performance, and safety even in adverse conditions. With the standard 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) in automatic mode, extremely fast gear changes can be engaged without interrupting traction.

The Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) now also comes as standard available in the Premium Package, actively and continuously regulating the damping force for each individual wheel and adapted specifically for this model.

Even more value for those who dare forward

The all-new Macan and Macan S equipped with a Premium Package as standard, with additional comfort and luxury features such as 14-way electric comfort seats with memory package, Power Steering Plus, Park Assist including reversing camera and surround view, automatic dimming interior and exterior mirrors, and BOSE Surround Sound System to increase overall driving pleasure.

The all-new Macan redefines limits for those who dare forward and is now available to order in Malaysia. For more information, visit our dealer websites below:

Under the hood of the new sporty flagship Macan GTS, the 2.9-litre V6 biturbo engine now delivers 440 PS (434 hp) – an increase of 60 PS (59 hp). With the responsiveness and power delivery typical of Porsche GTS cars, it completes the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 4.3 seconds when fitted with the Sport Chrono package and reaches a top speed of 272 km/h. All engines are coupled to a seven-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK) and the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel-drive system.

“With its powerful yet sophisticated appearance, the all-new Macan hints at what lies beneath an ideal compact SUV for the driven expressive urbanite, toeing the line brilliantly between sporty exhilaration and dynamic performance even day-to-day around the city,” said Christopher Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of Sime Darby Auto Performance.
