Kuala Lumpur, 10th June 2022 - Naza Italia unveiled the first Maserati Grecale in Malaysia today, an all-new SUV range from the Italian marque with three engine variants. Lauded as “The Everyday Exceptional”, the Grecale strikes the right balance between versatility, elegance, performance and innovation, guaranteeing its performance, comfort and safety, all at the same time. These features are combined with off-road capabilities and uncompromising driving pleasure to ensure journeys are extraordinary.

The Grecale is developed at the Maserati Innovation Lab in Modena and produced at the Cassino plant. It takes its name from a north-easterly Mediterranean wind and inaugurates a new SUV segment that represents the Trident brand’s fullest range ever.

Speaking during the unveiling, Mr. Farid Sulaiman, Chief Operating Officer, Naza Italia – Maserati expressed his optimism in the offtake of the Grecale in Malaysia. “Following the incredibly successful global launch of the Grecale in March 2022, we are thrilled to introduce it to Malaysia. And based on the volume of enquiries and pre-orders we have received thus far; we are pleased and excited to see that the Grecale is a highly anticipated and desired luxury SUV here as well. Available in an extremely wide range of engines: from conventional internal combustion to hybrid. We believe it will be the game changer for Maserati in Malaysia,” he said.

While the Grecale will also be the first full-electric Maserati SUV in a year’s time, it currently comes in three versions and each version is an account of different aspects of the same over-arching theme.

Grecale GT, powered by a four-cylinder mild hybrid engine capable of delivering 300 hp; recalls the city and its contemporary minimalism. It is intended for world citizens and their dynamism, curiosity and fashion consciousness, but is also in constant search for a style that makes itself personal.

Grecale Modena, equipped with a four-cylinder 330-hp mild hybrid engine; has an innate, timeless elegance and unleashes the charm of nature lovers who make the most of their free time.

The powerful Trofeo is equipped with a high-performance 3.0L 530-hp petrol V6 based on the Nettuno engine fitted to the MC20, where the car’s disruptive performance becomes the perfect tool to take up your very own personal challenge.

The new SUV stands out in terms of spaciousness and comfort, boasting an impressive set of “best-in-class” features. It is best-in-class in terms of its interior space, driveability, handling, acceleration (0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds – on the Trofeo), top speed (285 km/h – again on the Trofeo), sound quality and extensive use of fine materials such as wood, carbon fibre and leather.

Its dimensions are a major factor: in the GT version, Grecale is 4,846 mm long with a generous 2,901mm wheelbase, a height of 1,670 mm, a width of 2,163 mm (including wing mirrors), with a rear wheel track of 1,948 mm (and even greater in the Trofeo). It has made it possible to achieve remarkable roominess in the rear, plus the space in the boot with a flat loading platform, a cargo box under the platform and rear seats that can be folded down by pressing a button in the boot.

Everything becomes touch-based, with extreme aesthetic cleanliness. The technology is controlled from the displays: the large 12.3” central screen, the largest ever seen in a Maserati, another 8.8” display for the extra controls and a third for the passengers in the rear seats. An optional state-of-the-art heads-up display is available, taking its place among the best currently available in terms of brightness, contrast and viewing angles.

The in-car experience is managed from the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) Multimedia system, from the state-of-the-art infotainment and from Maserati Connect.*

The Grecale embodies the intrinsic values of being made in Italy, the values of Maserati and its new era. Ingenuity and the ability to reinvent itself and develop, always keeping an eye on the future without forgetting its DNA.

The design of the Grecale embraces Maserati’s new visual symbol, which distinguishes every new model since the MC20. The front features a low and imposing grille. The profile is notable for its contrast between purity and technique, with a highly fluid body featuring meandering, visual forms and its technical components highlighted by the use of carbon fibre. In the rear, the boomerang taillights are inspired by the Giugiaro 3200 GT and fit in with the trapezoidal line, made even more striking by the coupé effect of the cabin and its finish like a sports car's.

Inside the cabin, the standout tech specs include the traditional Maserati clockface. Digital for the first time, it transforms into a veritable in-car concierge, courtesy of voice control.

The in-car sound is pushed to the absolute limits of enjoyment by an all-round sound experience, ensured by the typical Maserati roar and the immersive Sonus faber 3D sound system. The Sonus faber audio system – as standard at premium level – includes 14 speakers, or 21 speakers on demand at High Premium level.

Every journey is transformed into a unique adventure that combines dynamic comfort and an unforgettable driving experience, made possible by the extraordinary handling provided by the new, 100% Maserati Vehicle Dynamic Control Module (VDCM) system and the 360° control it offers over the car. The option of complete control translates into a clear distinction between the various DRIVE MODES: COMFORT, GT, SPORT, CORSA (Trofeo only) and OFF-ROAD. This means you can shift from the most user-friendly mood in the utmost comfort to the powerful emotions of extreme responsiveness and potency.

This everyday exceptional comes in an additional three launch colours: GT version comes in Bronzo Opaco, an enveloping and silky matte hue; Modena is Grigio Cangiante (iridescent grey), made possible by an interposed three-layer paint with effects inspired by the freshness of summer light; Trofeo comes in Giallo Corse, a powerful expression of the unbreakable bond between Maserati and Modena, a shade that combines the city’s two heraldic colours, with a yellow base and a blue mica, for the sportiest look.

Maserati Grecale serves as a means to identify yourself as someone who lives audaciously, who chooses to always stands out from the crowd. Grecale is an exceptional experience, every day.
