SHELL PROMOTES SAFETY BY REWARDING CUSTOMERS WITH CHILD CAR SEATS

Kuala Lumpur, 13th March 2020 – Shell is giving away 138 child car seats at selected Shell stations to promote child safety on the road as part of their initiative to support the nation’s calling in enforcing the mandatory use of child car seat.

A child on board with proper Child Restraint Systems (CRS) has a lower chance of getting injured as compared to an unrestrained child, in the event of a road accident. As pointed out by the World Health Organisation (WHO), a major problem today is child injuries, disabilities and even fatalities caused by road accidents. Malaysia is no exception as our country has a high rate of road accidents involving children. The Malaysian Institute of Road Safety (MIROS) revealed that only 30% of car drivers use child car seats. Hence, child car seats were made mandatory in the nation effective 1 January 2020.

Head to participating Shell stations today to win an exclusive child car seat worth RM507!

From 17th February 2020 to 12th April 2020, Shell is giving out child car seats at selected Shell stations. This campaign is ongoing at 136 Shell stations in the Kuala Lumpur and Negeri Sembilan region. Up to 17 Shell customers will stand a chance to win a child car seat every week!

"What I value most is the safety of my 2-year-old child. I have been sharing and swapping the child car seat between my wife’s car and mine. Now, with the reward from Shell, I can travel worry free as my child is seated safely and protected while traveling. Thank you, Shell!” shared Lim Yen Wei, one of the winners.

Another winner, Mohd Faizal Abdul said, “My 3-year-old niece used to travel without a child car seat. Now, she gets to travel on the road safely. I am very glad that Shell is promoting road safety by rewarding customers with child car seats! This is a good initiative by Shell.”

As of this week, 70 lucky parents have already won child car seats and can now travel on the road worry-free. There are still child seats up for grabs in the next four weeks. To win an exclusive child seat, it takes only two simple steps: Step 1, customers need to spend a minimum of RM40 in a single receipt at participating Shell stations in Kuala Lumpur and Negeri Sembilan; Step 2, customers need to submit their details via a contest form at the station. Upon completion of these two steps, customers will stand a chance to win a child car seat every week. Participate now until 12th April 2020!
