Volvo S60 T8 R Design PHEV launched in Malaysia

Volvo Car has revealed its latest offering to the Malaysian market, the all-new Volvo S60 T8 R Design. A true driver’s car by Volvo, the S60 serves an unprecedented combination of performance, sustainability and safety in a mid-size premium sports sedan.

The latest version of the S60 is powered by Volvo’s award-winning T8 Twin Engine AWD plug-in hybrid that delivers 407hp and boasts a powerful performance through innovation. Turbocharged for maximum responsiveness, the engine balances strong performance with low emissions and fuel consumption, so the driver can enjoy the feeling of power, responsibly.

The City Safety with Autobrake technology assists the driver in avoiding potential collisions and is the only system on the market to recognise pedestrians, cyclists and large animals. In a world-first for the mid-size sedan segment, City Safety now also engages auto braking to mitigate oncoming collisions.

The Pilot Assist system – which supports the driver with steering, acceleration and braking on well-marked roads up to 130km/h – has been upgraded with improved cornering performance. Also included are Run-off Road Mitigation, Oncoming Lane Mitigation and other steering assistance systems. The Cross Traffic Alert further enhances safety for people inside and outside the car.

The Volvo S60 shares Volvo Cars’ own Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, safety technology and infotainment system, which is used in the top-of-the-line 90 Series cars and award-winning XC60, all of which have achieved industry-leading safety ratings. This makes the new S60 one of the safest cars on the road.

The Volvo S60 is priced at RM 295,888 (on-the-road, without insurance, inclusive of excise duty and sales tax) and will be available for viewing at all authorised Volvo dealers nationwide immediately.

Customers will have the option to choose between five distinct colours: Fusion Red Metallic, Crystal White Pearl, Pebble Grey Metallic, Onyx Black Metallic and Birch Light Metallic.

Volvo Cars’ Sensus Connect infotainment system is fully compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keeping drivers connected at all times. The intuitive control is a tablet-style touch screen interface that combines car functions, navigation, connected services and in-car entertainment apps.
