Shah Alam, 21st November 2019 - A lucky Malaysian drove home a Proton X70, whilst two others pocketed RM38,000 in cash each having supported local products during the recent Merdeka Day and Malaysia Day patriotic months.

Ashwin Radha Nathan emerged as the lucky grand prize winner of the Menang Menang Menang campaign spearheaded by Yee Lee Corporation Bhd (Yee Lee) along with Aurizn’s initiative to encourage Malaysians to love and support Malaysian brands and products. This collaboration is the first of its kind between a fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) company and an automotive media.

Coinciding with the 62nd anniversary of Merdeka Day on 31 August as well as Malaysia Day after that, Menang Menang Menang aimed to encourage Malaysians to support local products whilst cultivating a patriotic spirit.

BUYING MALAYSIAN BRANDS & PRODUCTS IS MENANG MENANG MENANG FOR ALL

• Buying Malaysian products nets lucky participant a brand new Proton X70.

• Menang Menang Menang campaign was spearheaded by Yee Lee Corporation along with Aurizn Malaysia’s initiative to encourage Malaysians to love and support Malaysian brands and products as it is the ultimate ‘Win-win-win’ for all.

• The two-month campaign starts with the organisers purchasing the Proton X70 for the Grand Prize, not only as a show of support for Malaysian brands, but also because it was chosen as one of 2019’s Cars of Malaysia by Aurizn for its combination of technology, performance and design.

The nationwide campaign to support and buy Malaysian brands & products generated 4.1 million eyeballs and registered 49,996 participating entries from Malaysians since 1st of August till 30th of September 2019.

“Yee Lee has been in business for more than 50 years, having been established in 1968, when Malaysia was just formed. We lived through the ups and downs of this country, we have grown and prospered together with it, and we are proudly Malaysian,” said Mr Lim Ee Young, Group Managing Director of Yee Lee Corporation.“

From cooking oil, to detergent, oral care products, and even instant noodles, our products are there to serve Malaysians for their daily needs,” he added.

In keeping with the patriotic theme of the campaign, the Proton X70 Premium was selected to headline the campaign as Grand Prize.

The Menang Menang Menang campaign flagged off on 1st August 2019 with twelve brands from Yee Lee entering Evo Enduro 2019 with its own ‘racing teams’. The twelve teams consisted of local brands Cactus, Kizz, Morning Kiss, Neuvida, Red Chef, Red Eagle, Sabah Tea, Sunlico, Sunplus, Vecorn, Vesawit, and Vesoya, each boasted a beautiful car liveried with their branding being proudly carried from Kuala Lumpur to the streets of Thailand, and towards the end of the campaign, these ‘racing cars’ were recreated in the world’s most popular racing game Gran Turismo Sport, downloadable by millions of fans from all over the world to be played.

In addition to the grand prize winner, two other lucky Malaysians pocketed RM38,000 in cash as first prize winners of the campaign. They were followed by a further ten second prize winners who won RM8,000 in cash each. Other prizes included 3-day-2-night holiday packages with RM2,000 pocket money for ten third prize winners and product hampers for 100 special prize winners.

With close to 50,000 entries, the amount of entries received were overwhelming, and we want to thank all Malaysians for their strong support of our products.
